The Chicago Music Awards is indeed Chicago’s biggest night of music excellence with more than 100 performing and recording artist nominees who will be recognized for their contributions to the city’s rich history in music, fine arts, music business, and event production.

 

While the majority of the awards are given to musicians, there are four distinguished non-voting awards named for
community leaders and public servants who embody Chicago’s soul and perseverance, through their
resilience, hard work, and dedication to the people of our great city.

 

The award categories are the Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey History and Education Lifetime Achievement award, the Jean Baptiste Point DuSable Humanitarian/Community Award, the Special Lifetime Achievement Award, and the

 

The CMA will honor Rev. Dr. Michael L. Pfleger, senior pastor of the Faith Community of Saint Sabina and social justice icon to its long list of distinguished honorees as the 2024 Marcus Mosiah Garvey History And Education Lifetime Achievement Awardee.
